Mission, Vision and Guiding Principles

Our Mission and Vision

The Platte River SCI mission is to protect the freedom to hunt and promote wildlife conservation in Nebraska. We are driven by the vision of leaving a legacy for future generations of Nebraska hunters.

Your membership dollars and donations help fund efforts to impact ethical hunting, legislative advocacy, public education, hunter access and recruitment within the State of Nebraska. Our chapter supports organizations and causes that align with these core principles:

  • Ethical Hunting - to promote safe, legal and ethical hunting.
  • Legislative Advocacy - to advocate for legislation that preserves and protects the rights of hunters.
  • Public Education - to educate and inform the public about the critical role hunting plays in wildlife conservation.
  • Access and Recruitment - to increase hunting access, promote hunter recruitment and provide opportunities within shooting sports.

Our Chapter

The Platte River Chapter of SCI was formed in 2020 as an affiliate of SCI International. Our chapter has grown to over 300 members dedicated to supporting our mission. The support of our members helps our organization shape a positive public image of ethical hunting practices and wildlife conservation. Platte River SCI offers programs and events throughout Nebraska to support our mission and provide opportunities for fellowship with other hunters.

Our Board of Directors

We are governed by a volunteer board of directors dedicated to living our chapter's mission by raising funds to support and portray a positive image of the hunting industry.
